At Swampscott Auto Driving School, we offer a variety of driving education and driving exam services to help get you through your driving test, no matter your age or experience level. Our driving instructors are patient, professional, and courteous, and will help you learn the skills you need to be at ease behind the wheel. You can be a safe, confident, and licensed driver!
Adult classes
Lessons for adults (over 18) consist of one hour of behind-the-wheel driving instruction, and can be tailored to meet your needs. While we train everyone to be an all-around safe driver, we realize that different students have different needs when it comes to driver’s ed. Our team specializes in training students who are new to the United States — though they may have experience driving, learning a new system and new habits can be difficult before a driver test. Our driving instructors have years of experience working with people from different backgrounds, and can help you in English, Russian, Hebrew, Romanian, or Estonian. We also offer refresher courses for seniors and anyone else who needs to prepare for a MA state Road Test at the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
With practice driving tests and hands-on instruction we will prepare you for defensive driving tests and the MA state driver's test. With our “Drive Test Special” package, you can even use one of our driving school cars, which are fully insured, to take your drivers test at the Registry of Motor Vehicles.
Adult drivers can schedule single driving lessons by the hour, or take our comprehensive Driving Education Course for unlicensed adults, which includes classroom and behind-the-wheel driving instruction on:
- Orientation of the vehicle
- Starting and stopping the vehicle
- Moving the vehicle forward and backward
- Scanning, using a visual search
- Operating the mirrors
- Executing right and left turns
- Signal lights and signs
- Parking
- Making turns between curbs
- Driving in residential areas
- Driving in business areas

Teenage Driver Education Courses I & II
For our beginning teenage drivers, training is particularly important. We offer teenage driving lessons as part of a comprehensive driver’s education course, which includes classroom and behind-the-wheel driving instructions on all the same topics as the adult driver training. Our Teenage Driver Education Course I also includes a two hour lesson for parents of the teen driver. Teenage Driver Education Course II is further, individualized instruction behind the wheel, which can include practice drivers tests in a supportive learning environment that helps teen drivers be successful. Training for a driver ed test is important for new drivers, both for passing the MA state Road Test and for their confidence on the road, and our driving school test simulations are a great learning experience. Our teen driver ed experience is more than you’d expect from a typical teen driving school.
